Oracle of the Vine-Flesh
In this radiant, hallucinatory composition, the organic and the sacred entwine. Oracle of the Vine-Flesh presents a vertical, humanoid figure that emerges from—and is also consumed by—its lush, alien surroundings. The composition is anchored by writhing vine-like tendrils, clusters of fruit or organs, and a spectral presence suggesting both priest and plant.
Saturated greens dominate, infused with electric reds, glowing oranges, and sharp blue flares. These contrasting hues generate a visceral intensity, echoing both life-force and ritual fire. A central, serpentine column climbs upward, wrapping around what resembles a spine or staff. The rite side features an outpouring of clustered yellow-orange ovals—like grapes, eyes, or bio-luminescent eggs. In the upper quadrant, suggestions of a face or mask formed from negative space bring a subtle anthropomorphic tension to the composition. Soft, painterly brushstrokes overlap with more defined linear gestures, creating a dreamlike oscillation between clarity and distortion.
The layered digital brushwork mimics glazed oils or wet impasto, giving the piece a tangible weight. Light seems to both emanate from within and reflect off of the surface forms, evoking bioluminescent flora or a sacred mural revealed by torchlight.
